Bruce Hill

Worship Pastor

Bruce Hill came to FBO in 2020 with over 40 years of music ministry experience. He has a degree from Samford University in Music Education and a Master’s in Music from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary both with a concentration in voice. In the academic setting, he has taught courses such as Choral and Instrumental Conducting, History of Church Music, History of Christian Music, Introduction to Worship Leadership, Music Theory 1 and 2, Philosophy of Worship, and Private Voice. Additionally, he has authored a book for the training of music ministers entitled Rebuilding the Temple of Praise.

Bruce’s heart and God-giftedness to lead worship has allowed him to travel and facilitate numerous ministry opportunities both internationally and state-side. He has led the worship for evangelistic crusades in Kenya and Nicaragua as well as for Bailey Smith’s evangelistic conferences, Rick Gage’s evangelistic crusades, and the late E.V. Hill. However, his heart is for the local church. Bruce has served numerous churches over the years and in each of those settings he has facilitated incredible participation and growth among those who have the desire to worship through song and instrumentation. He has spent the majority of his ministry in Tennessee and in Alabama. Some may be familiar with his leadership in the Alabama State Convention some years ago, or his ministry at Gardendale Baptist Church in Birmingham Alabama in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

Bruce and his wife Teri have two children Brad (Alex) and Kaley (Ross) and two grandchildren Bennett & Kollyns.
