We are excited to baptize children (grades 1-6) who have made a profession in Jesus as their Savior. Profession in Jesus means that you are a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17). As a new believer, it is important for you to understand what it means and how God has changed you from the inside out. It’s a picture of our sin being buried with Christ so we can have new life (Romans 6:4). And we need to know why we get baptized. The way we help you understand this is in our baptism class. This is where we will talk about what it means to be a Christian, what sin is, what the Lord’s Supper is, why we give offering, why we get baptized, what our testimony is, and many more things. It’s a way for kids to have a firm understanding of the foundational tenants of the faith.
If your child has made a profession of faith or is asking questions about what it means to be a Christian, we ask that you fill out this form and we will sign you up to be a part of our baptism class. The class is also open to kids who have been baptized but would like to go through this class as a discipleship study (no need to be baptized a second time). Following the baptism class, we will set up a date for you to speak with the Children’s Pastor to be baptized in any of our Sunday services.
We ask that ALL children who plan to be baptized go through this class. It’s designed for 6 weeks at the 11:00 hour of Sunday mornings. The first week will include parents and children, the 2nd-6th week will be just kids. You will receive a workbook called “I’m a Christian Now” as part of this class.
Thank you for letting us be a part of this moment in your life and we look forward to speaking with you and your child about baptism!
